deeprelay billing renew-from-balance

Show or set paying plan renewals from your deposited balance (on|off)

Synopsis

Shows or sets whether your plan's renewal is paid from your deposited balance. With no argument it prints the setting and how your balance splits; on or off changes it.

How a renewal is paid

When the setting is on and your deposited balance covers the plan's full price on the renewal date, the renewal is taken from your balance. When it does not, nothing is taken from your balance: your saved payment method is charged as usual, and your organization's admins are emailed. There is no partial payment.

The setting is on by default for a plan you started from balance (deeprelay billing subscribe --from-balance) and off for a plan you started by card or UPI.

What counts as deposited balance

Only money you deposited can pay for a plan:

Can pay a plan — deposited funds available now.
Free credit — referral and promo credit, credit codes, post rewards, staff grants, downtime credits and adjustments. It pays for usage, never for a plan.
Recent deposits — card and UPI deposits count 24 hours after they land; the row says when.

Only a US-dollar plan can renew from balance. A plan billed in rupees through UPI keeps renewing through UPI.

Permissions and errors

Reading the setting works with any key. Changing it requires an org admin API key with the billing write scope, the same as subscribe. A member key gets 403.
