Add a card or UPI ID (prints a Stripe link; nothing is charged)

Add a card or UPI ID (prints a Stripe link; nothing is charged)

Synopsis

Prints a Stripe link that saves a card, or with --upi registers a UPI AutoPay mandate (India) that you approve once with your UPI PIN. Nothing is charged; for UPI, Stripe debits and instantly refunds a token amount.

--for gives the new method a job as soon as it is saved, even if you close the page right after:

  • --for plan — your plan renews on it. On a plan whose renewal failed, the payment is retried on it straight away.
  • --for auto-pay — auto-pay top-ups are charged to it.

Add --resume with --for plan to also resume a plan that is set to cancel.

A plan billed in US dollars renews on a card or Link; a plan billed in rupees renews on UPI. A method that cannot pay your plan is saved but not assigned. If your plan has nothing it can renew on (for example its UPI mandate was cancelled), a newly saved method that can pay it is used for the plan automatically.
